How can we help?

Questions about the audits, your purchase or your privacy. A real person reads every message, usually within 48 hours.

If this is urgent or formal, do not write to us. Harassment, discrimination, anything involving safety, or a complaint that has already been raised: talk to HR or an employment lawyer in your country today. The app stops and says the same thing, because informal handling from that point can make it worse for everybody, including you.

Frequently asked questions

What does Boss Counselor actually do?

You rate yourself once on six parts of the job: clarity, recognition, fairness, temper, delegation and availability. After that the audits ask what you actually did, with dates attached, and the app scores eight axes from those answers.

Where your rating and your behaviour disagree, it says so. It also works out why somebody really left, tells you who is closest to leaving next, and prepares you for a hard conversation before you have it.

Is it going to tell me I am a bad boss?

No. The self audit reports how much there is to work on, and a typical manager lands around 30 out of 100, which is normal rather than damning. There is no verdict about you as a person anywhere in the app.

The findings are written to credit what you are doing well before they show what it costs. A boss who feels attacked stops answering honestly, and then the app is worth nothing.

It only hears my side. How can it be accurate?

It does not try to referee. It asks about behaviour you can date: when you last praised somebody by name, how fast bad news reaches you, what happened the last time somebody said a deadline was unrealistic. Those answers are yours, and they are hard to flatter yourself about once the question is that specific.

The sharpest findings do not need anybody else's version either: they compare two things you said yourself, or hold your behaviour against the list of things your own worst boss used to do.

Can my team, my boss or HR ever see this?

No. There is no account, no sign-in, no cloud and no sync, so there is nothing to request, subpoena or leak from us. The app is locked with Face ID by default and blurs itself in the app switcher.

Nothing about a person can be exported, shared or copied out of the app, for anybody, ever.

What is stored about the people I manage?

A nickname or initials, a colour, and the multiple-choice answers you gave. There is no field anywhere for a surname, a job title, contact details or free-text notes about a person, and that absence is on purpose.

You can delete a person, with every audit about them, at any time. Deleting the app removes everything.

Can I use it as evidence, or to build a case before letting somebody go?

No, and the app will tell you so if that is why you came. What you write here is one side of a story, it is about you rather than them, and it would be worth nothing in a formal process.

Wanting a record is responsible. Keep dated notes through your company's proper process and talk to HR before you act.

What happens if I answer something serious?

Threats, anything physical, a comment about somebody's race, gender, age, religion or disability, treating a person differently after they complained, or anything involving safety: the result screen is replaced by one instruction. Talk to HR or an employment lawyer today.

No score, no tips, no coaching. An app that coaches somebody through a harassment allegation is a liability, and more importantly it is wrong.

What is free, and what does the unlock include?

Free, without limit: the self audit, as often as you like, and every audit for your first person. That is the whole product for a manager who wants to check themselves.

One optional payment unlocks the rest of your team and the patterns across it: whether people keep leaving for the same reason, whether you saw it coming, and which way you are moving on each axis. One payment, no subscription, no ads.

I unlocked it and changed phone. Do I pay again?

No. Open Settings inside the app and tap Restore a previous purchase, signed in with the same Apple Account. Purchases are tied to your Apple Account, not to the device.

Your audits do not move with it: they live on the phone that made them, and there is no cloud copy. That is the trade for having no account.

How often should I run the self audit?

Every quarter. The app reminds you, and the second run is worth more than the first, because it shows which way each axis is moving rather than where it stands.

Run it again sooner if something big changed: a resignation, a restructure, a new team, or a week you are not proud of.

What is Part 2, and why does it arrive later?

Part 2 is the deep half: how you got here, what you are risking, who you answer to, what your worst boss did, and what you are proudest of. It is offered after your first audit, when you have seen what the app does with a few answers.

It is never scored. Its whole job is to make the audits sharper: most of the mirror findings only switch on once it is done, and your goal decides which argument the app makes when it wants you to change something.

Can I change my answers?

Yes. Settings has both parts of the opening questionnaire, and a person's record can be edited from their page. When a record changes, the app re-checks your stored results against it, because the same answers can fire different findings.

Is this HR advice, legal advice or therapy?

None of the three. It is a private self-assessment tool that asks better questions than most people ask themselves, and it never makes a decision about anybody's job.

Employment law is national and situations are specific. For anything formal, talk to HR or an employment lawyer where you work.

Which devices and languages?

iPhone on iOS 17 or later. English at launch, with the other languages of the Counselor series to follow.
