  1. First step! Study catwalk photos from famous fashion magazines such as Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire, etc. If you want to make money, your photos must have the same quality/style/composition as the photos used by major magazines.

  3. Buy the basic equipment. To begin, you need a camera, a 70-200mm telephoto lens, a monopod and a Pelican hard case. Do not underestimate the importance of the monopod and the case! You'll get sharp pictures only if you have a monopod and you will get a spot on the riser only if you have a case.

  4. Learn how to use your camera. Fashion shows can be fast and dimly lit. You need to know how to configure your camera for each event.

  6. Submit your work to fashion magazines and websites before the fashion show season. Big brands invite only press photographers to their events. Make sure the magazine is accredited in advance.

  7. Be quick to submit photos.

  8. Network with other professionals during the fashion week.

  10. Pay attention to the more experienced photographers, observe and learn from them.
